This shot of the Southern California Edison Building focuses on one of the beautiful bas-relief friezes created by artist Merrell Gage. This Art Deco masterpiece was completed in 1931 and is located on Fifth Street in downtown Los Angeles around the corner from the Biltmore Hotel on Grand Avenue. Designed by architects James and David Allison, the building now houses a variety of tenants, including the Torrey Pines Bank, whose prominent signs can be seen from most directions.
