The May Company building at Wilshire Blvd and S. Fairfax Ave.–currently known as LACMA West–is located at the western end of the “Miracle Mile” in Los Angeles. The words “May Co” were removed from the corner of the building after it was acquired by the adjacent Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1994.
The stunning streamline moderne Art Deco building was built in 1939 by architects Albert C. Martin & S.A. Marx. There were four floors of merchandise and a tearoom and restaurant on the fifth floor.
