In-N-Out Burger, Westwood Village, Los Angeles, May 2014

These shots focus on the palm trees poking out through a part of the roof of the In-N-Out Burger located at 922 Gayley Avenue in Westwood Village, near the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) campus. In-N-Out Burgers was founded in 1948 by Harry Snyder and his wife Esther.

Designed by Stephen Kanner of Kanner Architects, the Googie-style restaurant was converted from a Kentucky Fried Chicken drive-through in the late 1990s. Kanner was a third-generation architect and his firm was involved in the restoration of many Westwood Village and Los Angeles landmarks. He died at age 56 in 2010.
